Finland, September 28, 2022: AW-Energy, a leader in near-shore wave energy technology, has received its 2022 ISO 9001 certification by DNV – one of the leading global providers of accredited management systems certification and training.
The award by DNV to full certification of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System comes after a recent two-day intensive on-site review of the company’s procedures, processes and deep dives into projects.

We are delighted to have succeeded again with this latest award which is testament to our efficiency, smart processes and continual improvement.”
The re-certification to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System standard is approved for another three years.
ISO 9001 is an international standard which specifies a set of requirements for operating a quality management system that meets the needs of customers and other stakeholders. Holding ISO certification allows AW-Energy to continually monitor and manage performance across its business to identify any potential areas for improvement and ensure the business operates as efficiently as possible.
AW-Energy is one of the renewable industry’s front runners in ensuring its technology and the way the company operates is regularly assessed by independent third-party risk and assurance providers.
“The certification provides that essential independent in-depth analysis of our company for us and our stakeholders,” highlights Moisio. “It helps to provide assurance to our customers; and investors and financiers looking to confirm the bankability of our company or our technology or portfolio of wave energy products, such as our advanced wave energy industrial package called WaveFarm.”
AW-Energy’s WaveRoller® WaveFarms are one of the most advanced wave energy technology solutions available in industry. The WaveFarm project is created by AW-Energy and funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund that has created an industrial package comprising the WaveRoller® wave energy converters, all WaveFarm infrastructure, logistics, life-cycle services, product documentation and everything else that a customer needs to produce indigenous stable renewable energy.
This latest re-certification follows the ISO 9001 certification awarded to AW-Energy by DNV in 2016 and in 2019. The new certification lasts until 2025.
