DESALINATION

With our system, harnessing ocean energy through WaveRoller wave energy converters (WECs), electricity can be supplied ashore to support reverse osmosis desalination systems. Ocean waves are ideally suited to power desalination plants and WaveRoller’s proximity to the shore allows the collocation of sea water supply, brine discharge and power generation

Desalination

Located in the nearshore environment on ocean coastlines, WaveRoller can be used to power-reverse osmosis.

CO-LOCATED

Significant synergies between the systems are achievable because the water desalination system pipelines and the WaveRoller wave energy device can be co-located.

PRODUCTIVITY

Water desalination benefits from more stable WaveRoller power supply, which increases productivity of the system and reduces maintenance costs.

SUSTAINABLE

Including desalination into a WaveRoller array increases availability of both power and freshwater – targets of the UN Stainable Development Goals.
