The dawn of 2012 saw the arrival of the three machine room blocks of the Waveroller Pilot Power Plant in Peniche, Portugal. The blocks are fully tested and sealed and waiting for the Waveroller Panels to be mounted. The panels are currently under construction at a subcontractor in Peniche.
Once the panels are ready the three units will be attached to the mooring platform and a test deployment will take place inside the harbor. The purpose is to streamline workflow during deployment as much as possible.
The next milestone is the final deployment of the Power Plant. This can take place when the seas calm down during the coming months.
Upon deployment the sub-sea cable will be connected and Portugal will switch to Wavepower!
