The design for the WaveRoller wave farm to be installed in the Port of Avilés is created through the WaveFarm project. The WaveFarm project was made possible thanks to funding from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund under grant agreement No 958970 to create an industrial package for the deployment of the world’s first commercial wave energy farm.

The exciting climax of our WaveRoller wave energy project – August 2021

After 2 years in the energetic Atlantic ocean it’s time to complete the final phase of sea trials – the recovery of the WaveRoller from the seabed and tow it to Peniche port for inspection.

This is the exciting climax of the project. The first job is to test the recovery process that mainly uses compressed air. Then we get our first good view of the equipment. This is a huge moment for our team after years of hard work.

We have relocated to new premises in the Helsinki capital area at Tikkurilantie 10, 01380 Vantaa, Finland. The move to larger premises provides scope for the company’s continued growth ambitions, and represents a clear demonstration of the company’s commitment to the global renewables industry in the development of wave energy.

WAVEROLLER DEPLOYMENT – 7th November 2019

The deployment of the first commercial WaveRoller unit in Portugal as a part of the SURGE2 project. The device installed of the Almagreira beach near Peniche, some 850 meters from the shoreline.
